    Period Calculator

Enter the first day of your last period and your usual cycle length to estimate your next three periods. The maths happens in your browser β€” nothing is stored or sent.

A period calculator estimates your next period by adding your typical cycle length to the first day of your last period. It is calendar arithmetic based on what you enter, not a prediction of fertility, and it is only as reliable as how regular your cycles are.

    What the numbers mean

    • Cycle length is counted from the first day of one period to the day before the next one starts β€” not from the day bleeding stops.
    • A common range is roughly 21 to 35 days in adults, and cycles often vary by a few days month to month.
    • Cycle day 1 is the first day of full bleeding, which is why the calculator asks for that date rather than spotting.
    • If you do not know your typical length, use 28 for a first estimate, then replace it with your own average once you have logged a few cycles.

Why a calculator can only get you so far

An average hides the range. Two people with a 28-day average can have very different experiences if one varies by a day and the other by nine. Recording real start dates over several months turns a guess into a pattern you can actually use β€” and gives a clinician something concrete to look at.

Cycle length can shift with illness, stress, travel, sleep changes, some medications and life stage. A late period has many possible explanations.

When the estimate is least reliable

    • The first years after your first period, when cycles are commonly still settling.
    • Perimenopause, when cycle length and flow commonly change from month to month.
    • After childbirth, while breastfeeding, or after stopping hormonal contraception.
    • Any time cycles are irregular for reasons you have not discussed with a clinician.

Turning one estimate into a real history

HarmoFlux keeps the same record from your first period through perimenopause and postmenopause: period dates, symptoms, medications and supplements, and how you felt afterwards. Instead of recalculating an average, you can see your actual range over years β€” and export a doctor-ready summary when you need to explain it in an appointment. The free plan covers cycle and symptom logging.

    What this tool is not

    • It is not a fertility or ovulation prediction, and it must not be used for contraception.
    • It does not diagnose anything, including irregular cycles or missed periods.
    • It does not account for hormonal contraception, pregnancy, or medical conditions that affect bleeding.

    Common questions

How does a period calculator work?

It is arithmetic, not a forecast. You give it the first day of your last period and your typical cycle length, and it counts that many days forward to estimate when the next periods would start if your cycle stays the same.

How accurate is a period calculator?

It is only as accurate as the cycle length you enter and how regular your cycles are. Cycles commonly vary by a few days, and variation is more common in the first years after your first period and during perimenopause. Tracking several real cycles gives a much better estimate than a single average.

Can I use this to avoid or plan pregnancy?

No. This is a calendar estimate of bleeding dates, not a fertility prediction, and it must never be used for contraception. Talk to a clinician about contraception or conception planning.

Are the dates I enter stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser. The dates are held in the page while you use it and are gone when you close the tab. Nothing is sent to HarmoFlux servers.

What if my cycles are irregular?

A single calculation will not tell you much. Recording actual start dates over several months shows your real range, which is more useful to you and to a clinician than an average. Persistent irregularity, very heavy bleeding or bleeding after menopause is worth raising with a healthcare professional.
